The Ohikari Receiving Ceremony solemnly took place at the Zuiun-kyo Sacred Grounds Su no Hikari Kyodan Headquarters altar room on January 20.
To begin, Kyoshu-sama entered into the altar room. After Kyoshu-sama offered the Opening Prayer to God, everyone prayed the Amatsu Norito under his lead. Next, everyone sang Meishu-sama’s hymns and heard the teaching, “Words of Light.”
Continuing on, Kyoshu-sama presented the Ohikari or Sacred Focal Point to new members.
After Kyoshu-sama made an exit, Rev. Kawatani, Vice President of Izunome Group, took the podium. As a memento for the recipients, laminated cards with Words of Light, Our Pledge and Words of Prayer were given—he said that these three prayers were indispensable for members in turning their hearts to God. He also said, “The joy that all of you feel from being able to become believers of God, I believe, is immeasurable. Let us all remember the happiness of today in our hearts and go forward with courage and hope.”
At the end, those who received Ohikari together with those who were present read aloud “Words of Prayer” and sang “Goin’ Home.” Recipients departed the Zuiun-kyo Sacred Grounds with determination in their hearts to serve in Meishu-sama’s true wish—the sacred work of constructing a Paradise on Earth and the salvation of humanity.
