Prayer for Abundance Service
Greeting from Rev. Shirasawa, President of Izunome Group
Su no Hikari Kyodan Headquarters Altar Room
March 2, 2019

My sincere congratulations to everyone on the Prayer for Abundance Service.

The Beginning of Spring has passed and signs of spring can be felt everywhere. As one who is together with all of you in thought, I am truly encouraged and grateful that all of you are walking the path with the motto “Always one heart with Kyoshu-sama” and following the footsteps of Meishu-sama to be born anew as a true child of God, a Messiah.

Today, many have come from all over the country to attend the service – welcome to the Sacred Grounds!

Just now, under the prayers of Kyoshu-sama, who presides over all rituals and ceremonies, we were allowed to solemnly hold this service.

And, for us to hold today’s service, I sincerely thank President Narii and all the staff at Su no Hikari Kyodan for your enormous cooperation. Thank you very much.

Just a moment ago, we heard from a member [AM] of the Kasukabe Johrei Center, Saitama Church of the Eastern Japan Region and [PM] of the Minato Church of the Shinsei Region who through Kyoshu-sama’s guidance, reported important realizations and joyfulness. I understand that these reports are blessings from God that each and every one of us has received, and I, too, together in thought, reported them to God. Thank you very much.

Next, I have very delightful news to share with all of you.

Today, as is distributed with your program “Announcement: Kyoshu-sama’s Tanka,” from this April, it has been decided to present tanka poems composed by Kyoshu-sama each month. Kyoshu-sama’s tanka will be printed in the church publication, Shin-zen-bi (Truth, Goodness & Beauty).

Through the tanka of Meishu-sama and the successive Kyoshu-samas thereafter, we have received boundless realizations, understanding and comfort.

Within a Japanese tanka poem, the writer’s thoughts and feelings are condensed into a few short words and phrases or 31 characters to be exact. Kyoshu-sama – who explains to us God and Meishu-sama’s true wish – conveys his overflowing thoughts and feelings to us through his tanka. This is an exceedingly important matter for the deepening of our faith.

Just as we sing “Goin’ Home,” I am convinced that through Kyoshu-sama’s tanka, we have a wonderful opportunity to get closer to Kyoshu-sama’s heart, thus closer to God and Meishu-sama’s will.

I have one more important announcement to make.

For Su no Hikari Kyodan, the executive directors recently reached their reelection period and their renewed board is off to a new start.

On February 28, Rev. Keiichiro Narii was reappointed as President of the Board. The Ceremony for Authorization in which he received Kyoshu-sama’s authorization, was solemnly held here at the Headquarters.

In the Ceremony for Authorization, Kyoshu-sama’s wife Mayumi-sama, and Masaaki-sama were also present, along with the new executive directors of Su no Hikari Kyodan and we directors of Izunome Group.

At the time that Kyoshu-sama presented the Certificate of Authorization to newly reappointed President Narii in this ceremony, Kyoshu-sama delivered a message. I heard this message and believed the contents to be very important. Together with President Narii, we asked Kyoshu-sama if we could convey this to the members and we received his willing consent. Here, I will read the full text.

Kyoshu-sama’s Message

Just now, with Meishu-sama’s permission and with much humility, I presented the Certificate of Authorization to President Keiichiro Narii.

Currently, the church is facing a great transformation. But I believe that this shows we are already being guided in the new nurture of God.

In these circumstances, the authorization of Kyoshu has come to the surface as a problem. I have no other choice but to once again think about the meaning of the act of authorizing.

We determine our church guideline and the direction that we should be moving forward in and assess our situation. With dialogue taking place, we make decisions on matters and implement them. However, within the structure of the church, it has been determined that the authorization of Kyoshu is necessary. With this fact, rather than finishing with these various human-only assessments and decisions, I believe we are being shown how important it is for us to report to Meishu-sama what we have assessed and decided amongst ourselves and for us to seek to receive Meishu-sama’s will.

For God to accomplish His will of creation, He uses our thoughts and feelings, constantly calls on us, and works hard to communicate with us. For that reason, I believe that God allows us to report to Him through Meishu-sama.

Responding to this great love, regardless of how trivial something may be, we must recognize that God’s forgiveness and nurture is there, thank Him and report to God about everything in the name of Messiah, which is one with Meishu-sama. I feel that this turning of our consciousnesses toward God is an important part of the divine work.

I am so grateful and encouraged that all of you of Su no Hikari Kyodan are together with me in thought and always support me.

I wholeheartedly trust President Narii, who was chosen from amongst all of you. And I trust all the directors of Su no Hikari Kyodan under President Narii, as well as everyone from Izunome Group and Toho no Hikari Group who walk together with President Narii. I have great hopes for the future for all of you who will be newly embarking on this path.

Even if only a little, I wish to be of service in this divine work of an entirely new phase of salvation for all of humanity; the divine work that God has revealed to us through Meishu-sama and even now is being revealed to us; the work of being closer to true faith, going beyond the boundaries of race, culture and language. I would like to go forward together with President Narii and with all of you, so let us do our best.

Thank you very much.

Yoichi Okada, Kyoshu (Spiritual Leader) of Sekai Kyusei Kyo

Up until now, I believe I concluded various personal and organizational assessments and decisions as my own or the organization’s assessments and decisions. However, hearing Kyoshu-sama’s message, with the matters we assessed and decided, no matter how trivial they are, I have been made to believe that reporting these to Meishu-sama and saying “Meishu-sama, I will receive your will” is very important and is courteous to God. For myself, this was a ceremony from which I received this important realization.

For many years, with Rev. Nakadomari (President of Sekai Kyusei Kyo) and Rev. Narii (President of Su no Hikari Kyodan) leading and with the guideline “Fully follow Kyoshu-sama’s example and his messages,” everyone from Su no Hikari Kyodan went forward as a church under the spiritual leadership of Kyoshu-sama no matter what difficulty they met.

As all of you know, we of Izunome Group, exist now because we are permitted to have activities within the corporation of Sekai Kyusei Kyo Su no Hikari Kyodan. Having the same aims and having accepted us, everyone at Su no Hikari Kyodan who opened the path of coordinating and collaborating with us set forth with a renewed organization. I understand this as Izunome Group having reached an important turning point, too.

From here on, too, I wish for us to unite with everyone at Su no Hikari Kyodan, and boldly go forward. And so I ask to receive everyone’s understanding and combined effort.

Now then, today is the Prayer for Abundance Service. In the presence of God before the altar, we have offered seeds from our crops. However, I believe it is not only the seeds whose forms and shapes are visible to the eyes that we are offering but also each and every one of our hearts.

In regard to this year’s prayer for the Prayer for Abundance, I came to this service with a different thought and feeling than before. Until now, I would say to God, “Please, may we be permitted abundant harvests this year,” a prayer in which a human-centered wish was the main subject. Of course, it certainly is not a bad thing to pray for abundant harvests. By the constant prayers and efforts of farmers, our lives are sustained. I am deeply grateful for this.

Through Kyoshu-sama’s guidance we have often been receiving, I was made to believe that the parent of all life, the one who governs all, the one who holds the power to create all, is God. And in order to welcome humans, together with all of creation, into His heaven, this God has brought to us an abundance of blessings.

In the breath of spring, the crops sprouting and being nurtured in abundance, is an expression of the love of God, the parent of all life.

As a part of all of creation, I believe we must be aware that we are receiving limitless blessings, that is, the nurturing of God. And I would like to serve, so that God’s will may be accomplished.

Let us steadfastly receive God’s will and His workings, and within His nurture, the expression of His love, I would like for us to pray, “We will return to the heaven within us, together with all things.”

As we welcome the service on this day, I am truly grateful and thank God for allowing us realizations in which we can change the way we understood things from before.

Together with all crops, this year, I would like for us to make an effort together in divine work that accomplishes His will so that we may be permitted further growth and be entrusted with God’s blessings, His nurture.

Next, continuing from last year and this year too, Kyoshu-sama’s visits to various regions around the country are scheduled.

Kyoshu-sama has already made a visit to Osaka this February for an Ohikari Receiving Ceremony held jointly with Su no Hikari Kyodan and was present for other related activities.

From March 8, a three-day visit is scheduled in the Chubu Region and on the 23rd and 24th, a membership meeting is taking place at the Hamamatsu Church of the Shinsei Region. And at the end of the month, we will receive his presence in Osaka for the Grand Spring Service. For us members, how truly thankful we are to have the opportunity to interact with Kyoshu-sama without any obstacles. I expressed my sincerest thanks to God and Meishu-sama.

Also, this year, receiving visits from Kyoshu-sama will be of course all of Japan, but also the United States in April, Brazil in July and Europe in November.

With the motto, “Always one heart with Kyoshu-sama,” many members around the world are now, just like us, walking the path of true salvation revealed by Meishu-sama through Kyoshu-sama’s guidance.

As ones who are strongly united with Meishu-sama who received the holy name of Messiah together with all of humanity and all of creation, we have been allowed to awaken to the name of Messiah that is shining brilliantly within each and every one of us and also know the truth that we are receiving the nurture of God in order to be born anew as a true child of God.

It is this awakening, it is this realization that God has forgiven us and has given us a once-in-a-lifetime chance of salvation, a once-in-a-lifetime blessing.

The spirit with which Meishu-sama founded World Church of Messiah, that is, Meishu-sama’s final conclusion that he himself embodied of “being born anew as a true child of God” – is the essence of salvation, the good news that all of humanity has been waiting for. We of Izunome Group have been entrusted with the mission to proclaim this good news to the whole world. For that purpose, we are the first of humanity to know this and the reason why we exist here.

In the name of Messiah, which is one with Meishu-sama, let us all walk steadily on this path of salvation. And “always one heart with Kyoshu-sama” as our motto, let us take to heart this great hope to be born anew and go forward together full of life, with Kyoshu-sama at the forefront. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Grand Spring Service in Osaka.

Thank you very much.
