~July Monthly Service & International Membership Conference – Brazil~

On July 7, the July Monthly Service & International Membership Conference – Brazil took place in the Golden Hall at the World Trade Center in the city of Sao Paulo. Members from Brazil and pilgrimage groups from Argentina, Japan, United States, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Australia, Angola, and Bolivia came together, totaling approximately 2,300 people under one roof.

After Kyoshu-sama entered the altar, the assistant officiant read aloud in Portuguese the Opening Prayer written by Kyoshu-sama. Then, under the lead of Kyoshu-sama, all the attendees prayed the Amatsu Norito.

After receiving Johrei from Kyoshu-sama, the Presentation of the Certificate of Authorization took place and Rev. Nagae, president of the Brazil church and a director from the board took the podium. When President Nagae conveyed his wish to receive Kyoshu-sama’s authorization for the appointments of President, Vice-President and Directors made by Igreja Mundial do Messias General Assembly, Kyoshu-sama replied in Portuguese, “Yes. I give my authorization,” and presented the Certificate of Authorization.

Next, President Nagae stood to give a greeting and spoke words of gratitude to Kyoshu-sama for his missionary visit. When he presented members from various regions, each group waved handkerchiefs of the color of their region, cheering, “Kyoshu-sama! Kyoshu-sama!” showing their joy for receiving the permission for his visit. Kyoshu-sama, his wife Mayumi-okusama and Masaaki-sama also responded with smiles, waving their arms.

Next, Masaaki-sama gave a greeting in Portuguese. He pointed out that in order to advance divine work using the name of Messiah, we cannot avoid the existence of Jesus Christ. Meishu-sama is not the only Messiah of this present age, he is the Messiah for eternity. Jesus Christ is also the Messiah for eternity. He boldly said not only that, our mission is to convey to all people in Brazil and all over the world the truth that the spirit of God named Messiah lives within all of us. The attendees stood up in unison to give an ovation.

Here, Kyoshu-sama took the podium. First, he spoke about the significance of the establishment of Brazil’s Igreja Mundial do Messias and expressed his joy for being able to meet with many members who are walking the path of an entirely new phase of faith.

Kyoshu-sama said that the purpose of God’s creation is to bear his own children. The construction of Heaven on Earth, the salvation of humanity, the Teachings of Meishu-sama and his hymns, Johrei, Nature Farming and Art, examples from Meishu-sama’s life – the will in the root of all of these things is to make us His very own children.

And he gave guidance saying we should not just rely and depend on Meishu-sama and pray for ourselves. We have come to this world to follow Meishu-sama – to follow Meishu-sama and be born once more as true children of God. If we are following Meishu-sama, we are not destined to reincarnate but to be born anew!

At the end, as a reply to what Meishu-sama said at his announcement of the birth of the Messiah, all the attendees said aloud, “Together with Meishu-sama, I have become much younger, too! Thank you, Meishu-sama!” A standing ovation and shouts of joy arose from the venue.

Afterwards, a chorus group of sixteen people offered the “Hallelujah” chorus from the Messiah and then everyone sang “Ieji” (Goin’ Home) with lyrics written by Kyoshu-sama, in Japanese. As Kyoshu-sama, Mayumi-okusama and Masaaki-sama were exiting the venue through the middle aisle, their surroundings overflowed with people seeking handshakes and photographs. The venue was filled with singing voices praising Meishu-sama through Kyoshu-sama. Being blessed with a precious opportunity to personally come in contact with Kyoshu-sama, Mayumi-okusama and Masaaki-sama, many members were shedding tears of deep emotion.

And in the evening, a friendly dinner meeting was held with Kyoshu-sama and staff ministers, lay ministers, Ikebana instructors and overseas ministers.
