“Words in my stead”
I am Mokichi Okada, Spiritual Leader of World Church of Messiah.
To start with, let me say that even though we use a religious name for our organization, our Church of Messiah is not a mere religion. For religion itself is only a part of World Church of Messiah. You may think I am making too big a statement, but in fact I am not; I am telling you a fact—an immovable fact. To put it more concretely, the mission of our Church is to create a world absolutely free from disease, poverty and conflict, that is, to create heaven on this earth. This is a dreamlike story, so I suspect that no one would believe my words as they are.
Now, I would like to talk about the common desire that humans all have—about happiness. It needs no explanation that from olden times, the purpose of religion, academia, politics, education, art—absolutely everything—has been to bring happiness to humanity. That being the case, has anyone attained happiness as expected? Culture has developed so much until today, but has anyone attained happiness? Suppose we ask every human being whether they are happy or not—do you think we can find even one person who says with confidence, “I am happy”? I doubt it.
So the question we must ask ourselves is, “Will a time ever come when human beings can attain happiness?” There is no matter in the world that is more grave and serious than this. But now, let me say this: the plan of God is already well decided. Do not be surprised, everyone. The time has finally come for Him to create a world filled with happiness!
